Awesome, light, cool

Pads are extremely light. We bought the AirMaxx Schutt, Gear Pro-Tec, and Douglas Nitro. I was wearing Schutt Tornado given to me by my JV team and last year I wore All Star at about the same weight I am today, about 200lbs. At first glance the pads appear not to have the same protection as the other pads because visually, these pads look very light and minimal but performance has been great. We are doing conditioning right now and I chose to wear my Pro-Tec Z-Cool because it simply looks cooler than the other pads. I have been hitting with the pads last two days as well. These pads also offer incredible motion, allow me to play fast, and great clearance to keep my head up from the 3 point and 4 point stance. I tested my visibility and I can see higher into the backfield with these pads and the pads still sit low on my shoulders. I am amazed still, here in Northern CA, it was above 100 degrees last few days and I could feel the wind cool me down when I ran. Tomorrow I test my AirMaxx but as for now, I love these pads. I will be posting my reviews and comparison of all three pads on Youtube under Das Machinen. The only downside is that my dad bought me one size too large, 3XL so I can use these pads again next year but my size should be 2XL. With the these pads being so light and a bit more narrow in the front, my clavicle area is a little exposed unless I pull it tight. Be sure to get the right size. The neck gap is wider but I will be measuring the distance in more detail and comparing my 5 shoulder pads online on youtube this week under DasMachinen
