The Mizuno Samurai 2012 G4 Pro Youth Baseball Catchers Set includes a helmet, leg guards and chest protector for complete catcher's protection. Featuring Mizuno's legendary quality and attention to detail, each piece of this set is built for competitive play and high performance in youth leagues. The hockey-style helmet is ventilated for breathable comfort, and is lined with EVA foam for safe impact protection. Its durable steel facemask guards your money maker without obstructing your view of the diamond. The chest protector wicks moisture, and lets you customize its fit with detachable shoulder and wing pads. The shin guards are durable and strong, with a triple knee cap for added protection and mobility. Nothing performs on the field like Mizuno gear, so get the edge behind the plate this season.

Great Set, February 13, 2011We are very happy with this set that we purchased for our son. It is very high quality for the price. It provides him good protection and he says it is comfortable and light enough where he can move freely. We got the red and it looks very sharp. We would recommend this catcher's set.

Youth Baseball, April 3, 2011Mizuno put a lot of thought into its youth catcher's set. Built-in heart guard in the chest protector, buckles on the leg guards instead of hooks, and the helmet has perhaps the fullest view and most protection on the market. Purchased as a kit provides the best overall value.

muzzuno catchers gear, May 11, 2011Love this set of catchers gear. It is very light weight giving our little 7 year old softball girl the ability to move more freely. It also looks nice on and fits so securely you don't have to take the time to adjust it between every play!! I highly recommend this gear to anyone!!

Mizuno Samurai Youth Catchers' Set, July 13, 2011This was my son's first personal catcher's gear set. It is much nicer than the one the league provided and one that he borrowed from a friend. The gear itself is super light and easy to move in, although it is very tough against missed fastballs. The helmet has good visibility, although it is not easy to take off quickly, like the pros' face masks, but I think the whole helmet design is all that is available (or safe) for this age player (9).
The buckles are the outstanding feature in comparison to other sets. They are similar to the buckles you would find on a baby's highchair or car seat where you simply push one piece into the other until it "snaps" to fasten and then push in the buttons on either side to quickly unfasten. They are very easy to operate, yet secure. Other sets had hooks, which were difficult to fasten or velcro, which does not stay in place during game play and wears out quickly, especially with the amount of dirt that gets on it during regular use. These buckles were unaffected by use, dirt or water.
Mizuno customer service is fantastik! We lost a strap and buckle during all-stars (9 yr olds are careless) and Mizuno responded quickly to a request for a replacement and even over-nighted it to us in time for the next game at no charge!
I highly recommend this set over all the others and I will buy it again in the larger size when my son grows out of it.
Mizuno catcher's kit, August 8, 2011Quick shipment. Excellent value for the money. Very easy to get on and off. The clips work great. My son says it is very comfortable. He does not need to make frequent adjustments. At first he didn't like the style of the mask, but says it is very good with excellent visibility since he got used to it. excellent protection
