The Riddell 360 football helmet was introduced to bring new innovations in
safety and technology to the world of football head protection. That extended to
their facemasks, which were built specifically for the 360 helmet to work as
part of the Flex System - a combination of facemask, shell and hinge clips
designed to absorb more impact on direct hits.
Riddell 360 facemasks use the Quick Release attachment system that allows
medical personnel to remove the facemask from the helmet without having to use a
screwdriver. This is especially important for head injuries when it's of utmost
importance to keep the head stabilized and avoid unnecessary swiveling of the
neck. It also makes the facemask easy to attach and switch out if you choose a
new style. One thing that makes these facemasks unique is the fact that both
attachment points are on the sides of the helmet. All other helmets' facemasks
are attached with two clips at the nose bumper and two on the sides.
Like all Riddell facemasks, ones built for the 360 come in styles made to
complement each position player's needs. They all feature wide field of visions
and follow Riddell's standard naming convention found on our
facemasks page. They come in standard weight styles and also lightweight
versions that won't weigh down your helmet. Much to the delight of linemen,
Riddell has also added a 360 Big Grill facemask to the lineup.
