The Gill Athletics Aluminum Long Jump / Triple Jump Sand Pit Cover provides a durable and professional solution for protecting sand pits while maintaining a clean, seamless track surface appearance. Designed for long jump and triple jump facilities, this cover system helps keep sand pits free from debris, weather, and unauthorized use when not in competition or training.
Each cover panel is fabricated from extruded aluminum seat plank, delivering exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability. Three planks per panel are securely welded together within a 2-3/8" x 1-1/2" x 3/16" aluminum angle frame, creating a rigid panel design that is both lightweight and easy to handle.
To simplify installation and removal, each panel includes four retractable handles that drop flush into the panel when not in use, reducing obstruction and maintaining a clean surface. The panels are recessed to allow contractors to apply the same synthetic track surface used on the surrounding runway, creating a seamless, integrated facility appearance.
A 2-inch supporting recess is required along each side wall of the sand pit to properly support the panels. When not using a Gill pre-fabricated sand pit form, a 2-inch ledge should be incorporated into the side walls of the pit to accommodate the cover system. Manufacturing begins after submission of a field check guide, ensuring that each cover system is produced to match the exact pit dimensions.
