Protection Technology

The Schutt F7 LX1 and Vengeance A11 2.0 both feature polycarbonate shells and utilize TPU (thermoplastic urethane) padding for impact absorption. The F7 LX1 is designed with Tektonic Plate Technology, allowing the outer plates to move independently in multiple directions to help manage rotational forces. It also includes a Radial Diffusion System in the crown liner for enhanced rotational impact protection. The helmet uses a multi-layered energy dispersion system, including a front pad made of TPU, Poron, and comfort foam.

The Vengeance A11 2.0 features a compact standoff shell design and a frontal liner made with Poron padding embedded in the TPU base, offering solid stability and frontal support. It uses a single-layer TPU system throughout the helmet. While both helmets focus on dispersing energy effectively, the A11 2.0 takes a more streamlined approach compared to the multi-layered system of the F7 LX1.

Fit & Comfort

The fit systems of the two helmets differ significantly. The F7 LX1 incorporates an inflatable SureFit Air Liner with additional pods for a secure, custom fit. It uses two clear loop straps at the top for facemask attachment and offers internal comfort through a multi-layer front pad.

The Vengeance A11 2.0, on the other hand, is non-inflatable and uses a 3/8" crown liner for a fixed fit. Its internal structure includes mechanically fastened padding and Poron inserts in the frontal liner. Both helmets come with a soft cup chinstrap and are built for youth players, but they offer different fitting philosophies—customizable versus fixed.

Design & Aesthetic Features

Both helmets reflect distinct design identities. The F7 LX1 has a high-profile look with a modern aesthetic, highlighted by its Tektonic plates and external cheek stabilizers. It uses clear loop straps for facemask mounting and is compatible with Schutt F7 facemasks.

The Vengeance A11 2.0 features a lower-profile shell with a raised Mohawk design, contributing to its compact and aggressive look. It includes a twist-release facemask retainer system for easier attachment and removal, and it is compatible with Schutt Youth Vengeance facemasks. Each helmet presents a strong visual identity suited to different preferences in styling and helmet profile.

Weight and Construction

In terms of weight, the F7 LX1 is slightly lighter, coming in at 3.15 lbs without a facemask. The Vengeance A11 2.0 weighs approximately 3.6 lbs with the facemask, which may be attributed to its non-inflatable design and hardware components. Both helmets use a polycarbonate shell, but their internal construction and accessories affect their overall weight and feel on the field.

Compatibility and Accessories

Both helmets include black soft cup chinstraps and come with standard hardware, but facemasks are sold separately. The F7 LX1 works with specially designed F7 faceguards and includes two clear loop straps for facemask attachment, while the other two straps are included with the facemask. The A11 2.0 uses a twist-release system for facemask changes and is compatible with the Vengeance line of facemasks.
