The Gill Athletics Brutus High School Discus Cage with Rear Door Access is engineered for facilities that require maximum durability and safety, especially in high wind conditions. Built with the same heavy-duty construction used in hammer cages, this discus cage provides exceptional strength while maintaining the performance standards required for high school competition.
The cage features seven 14-foot rolled aluminum net poles constructed from 4" outside diameter, .218" thick-wall 6063-T6 aluminum, delivering superior structural stability and long-term corrosion resistance. Each pole installs securely into 36" deep ground sleeves, providing a solid foundation designed for heavy use and harsh weather conditions.
A weather-treated 180 lb. test nylon net combined with a vinyl-coated steel support cable helps maintain proper net tension while reducing sag for consistent performance. The system also includes hinged net arms at ground level to keep the net properly positioned at the front of the cage.
This model includes a special rear entry system, featuring a cutout and additional net section at the back of the cage that allows athletes and coaches easier access to the throwing circle without entering through the front of the cage.
